The Piano Bar attracts locals and tourist alike. We have a rotating line up that makes it worthwhile checking out any night of the week. From the professional to the tenderfoot, from the professional jazz muso to the show town pianist, to the student trying to find his or her voice. We have them all. We have a cover charge most nights to assist us with keeping the MUSIC ALIVE!

Prince Mafu

Prince Mafu is a Cape Town born musician and instrumentalist. He first began his musical journey at the age of 15 years singing at his High School Choir (Fezeka S.S. school) under Mr P. Tsewu. Then went on to take instrument (bass guitar) lessons at Ntonga Music School that was founded by Mr Pokie Klaas. he finished his Performance Diploma in Jazz Studies at University of Cape Town SACM.

He has since played with various bands in the Cape Town music scene and with legendary musicians such as Tete Mbambisa, George Werner and Blacky Tempi who he regulary plays with. He has shared stages with artist such as Buddy Wells, Frank Paco, Tete Mbambisa and others. He was involved in UCT ensembles under the Leadership of Dan Shout, Alvin Dyers, Shaun Johannes and Mandisi Dyantyis.

Resident Artists


Francois Botha is pianist living and working in Cape Town, South Africa and is active in the classical, jazz and popular music scenes.


Nina’s music can at best be described as global – which combines a variety of different styles and influences. She fuses afro soul, jazz, pop and even house music.


A vibrant artist who has worked abroad for many decades. She brings us sounds from Jazz, R&B, Motown, Cabaret and Soul­ – funk.


He makes his music the way he lives life: from ballads to bow ties, he’s quirky, fun, nerdy and energetic, but with understated elegance and a hint of the classic dapper gentleman.
